Terms and privacy policy

1. General

These are the terms of use and privacy policy for app "Where Are The Kids" (updated 7.1.2022). By downloading, installing and using the referred application the user agrees to terms explained in this document.

2. Privacy policy

This app shares user's exact location (provided by the device's GPS hardware if available) periodically to configured user(s). Location is sent also when the app is in the background. Ongoing sharing is clearly indicated to the user with visible notification.

User location is sent periodically from the app to server located in Finland (Europe) which sends the location to other devices. There is no login requirement to use this service. User is identified by app specific unique ID which is generated when app is first launched. No other user or device data than location and data user has entered in the app is sent. User location is stored only for the duration required to share to recipients and is then completely deleted. Location history is not stored. User can request the developer via email to delete all user specific data.

This app uses Google Maps for visualization purpose only (shows other user's locations on the map) and user accepts the terms and privacy policy specified by Google for using Google Maps services.

3. Liability

This app is meant for sharing user location with selected people occasionally. It is the best intention of the developer to have this service up and running at all times. However, the developer is not in any way responsible for the app's functionality, accuracy, availability, fit for purpose or in any way liable for any results of using this app. For business critical needs, please contact the developer directly.

4. Pricing

This app is a paid service. You can use this app for 7 days for free. After this time, you will have to buy a subscription to continue using the app. Only parent phone requires purchase. The app can be installed in any number of devices using the same Google account. Child phone does not require purchase.
